  MY TAKE –   Today was one of those days… an ick day. I was looking for a pick-me-up so I indulged in a little Lover Undercover (A McCade Brothers Novel) by Samanthe Beck and it proved to be just what I needed! Bonus points for the steamy sex scenes…     As our story begins, the reality of Kylie’s new “job” sets in with lights blazing, her name being announced to hit the stage, and her sub-conscious reminding her just how scantily clad she really is. She sets her eyes on the prize… rent… and literally gyrates her way onto the stage as she thinks back to the directives that her sister had provided. The queues are flowing through her mind and then she spots him, Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome.; Homicide Detective, Trevor McCade. But that is just the beginning of this tale. Samanthe takes us to a wild ride with touches of murder, sex, mystery, fantasy, a lot more sex and so much more. This is an absolute page turner that you would be remiss not to indulge in. You’ll have to read the book to see what happens next!   I have to admit, and hope it doesn’t make you uncomfortable, that I was completely turned on the entire time that I read. My hormones have spiked for the day and they are yet to settle! This is a must read before date night with your husband/significant other. Samanthe provides descriptive detail of Kylie’s moves, her outfit choices, and her thoughts as she dances. The private dances that she gives Trevor in the VIP Room, Holy Hell! Smoking hot and SEXY! For me, this book reaches out and touches the core of one of my ultimate fantasies.   I know what you’re thinking… a stripper… Heather… hmmm… that doesn’t really go along with the persona. In reality, I’ve never wanted to be an exotic dancer … I don’t have the body for it, I can’t dance, and a pole… yeah… there would be no sexy time there. However, I’ve fantasized about being one. The thought of commanding a room with my presence, my moves, and my body… that sounds absolutely empowering and sexy. This part of the book had me all in a tizzy … I’m pretty sure my husband would be in a “tizzy” of sorts as well.   Then… there is Mr. Yummy a.k.a. Trevor McCade! Something about a man with a gun that is always ready… and willing… to serve and protect (hmm… double meaning there?) totally does it for me. OH MY GOD!  Sorry, I have a thing for cops… hell I have a thing for uniforms. I find authority figures extremely sexy and Trevor, he oozes confidence, intelligence, and sex. I should probably stop there before I get carried away.   This book was farfetched but I absolutely loved it. Confusing? Pick up a copy of this novel and… keep reading. First, I can’t imagine a yoga instructor that oozes innocence stepping on stage for a striptease and being a natural. Also, I can’t see sitting in a police interrogation room for an interview and then having a heated make-out session with the detective that was just slinging questions my way. Hot? Hell yes… Realistic? Not so much. I watch NCIS every week and have learned that there is always someone watching… Still, that did not take away from this book for me.   I read romance novels to escape from reality and step into a world filled with fantasy and that is exactly what Samanthe provides a fantasy. The chemistry between Kylie and Trevor is hot, the sex is steamy, and the author kept me wanting for more. I’m sold on Samanthe Beck, her characters, and the way that she writes. I can’t wait to read more of what she has to offer.  

This is a quick, sexy read and one that I definitely recommend!
